Great sounding and playing Loar era "Snakehead" A style mandolin in very good condition. The pickguard and the cover on the tailpiece are missing, and the end pin appears to be a replacement. This instrument has had one owner and he enjoyed playing it! It comes with it's original hardshell case.
The Loar patent single action truss rod allows this mandolin to have a slim fast neck. The Loar adjustable compensated ebony bridge, tuning machines, tailpiece and cover are all original to this instrument. The A2Z mandolins are very rare as they were only made during the Loar period (1921-1924) and are made with fancier wood and trim than the standard A2 model. The serial number is 75646 and the label inside is clean and legible. The original hard shell case is in good condition.
