The Fender Marcus Miller Jazz Bass V has an ash body coupled to a one-piece maple neck with 7-1/4" radius, and 4-over 1-under tuner configuration. The J-Bass V has white binding and pearloid block inlays on a maple fretboard. A unique active preamp with an active/passive switch are wired to US single coils. A massive string-thru bridge, Marcus Miller's signature black pickguard, and chrome neck pickup cover complete the feature set.

The stage series is the most affordable line as a result of having trimmed away all the options that can add to the cost of the bass, while not affecting it's tone or playability. These basses are still completely handmade by Pete Skjold, the same way he builds all his basses. To keep the cost down on these, a very limited number of options are available and are limited to the electronics, pickups and color.
