This is a bare bones F-Style that is stripped down to the minimum with no appointments to speak of. The point was, to make a nice hand-carved and properly graduated F-model for the players that want all of their money to go to performance rather than appearance. With that in mind, this is obviously not for everyone. It is not much of a looker, but that is the whole point!
$ 513.99 $ 840.00
No frills, just a hand-carved, fully graduated spruce top and a hand-carved maple back for optimal tone.
The hand-carved LM-520 F-model mandolin is the response to players' requests for a value priced mandolin with more stripped down appointments yet a similar sound to the best-selling Loar LM-600 mandolin.
The 520 is carefully assembled in the same hand-carved workshop that gave birth to the LM-400 and 700, and have similar hand-carved, fully graduated spruce tops. The solid maple back of each instrument is also hand carved, and the solid maple sides complete the package. The maple neck has a comfortable rounded V profile finished with a rosewood fretboard. The compensated adjustable ebony bridge and high quality vintage-style Grover tuning machines insure that these mandolins have great intonation and stay in tune no matter how hard they are played.
Perfect for players who want a high-quality, great-sounding hand-carved mandolin but don't need all of the bells and whistles, these minimally appointed instruments deliver the high-end tone, chop and projection the music community has come to expect from The Loar. Case sold separately.

The Luna Banjolele 8" Ukulele features some inspired etchings on its mahogany back. The mahogany neck has a smooth rosewood fingerboard and a 15.5" soprano scale. Tuned like a concert ukulele, this banjolele is sure to add some distinctive tones to your jams. The etched patterns on the back of Luna's banjoleles are a tribute to traditional Hawaiian quilt design. In the early 1800's, missionaries brought woven fabrics and steel needles and taught the Hawaiian people how to make patchwork quilts. But the Hawaiians made them uniquely their own. The designs were cut from one piece by folding fabric in the same way that you would fold paper to cut snowflakes and were based on the many plants that surrounded them. Luna has chosen the KALO (taro plant) as inspiration because this plant was a sacred and an essential part of early Hawaiian life. Love the Uke and are ready to expand your playing possibilities? Pick up a Banjo Ukulele!

Luna's lovely solid cedar topped ukuleles are adorned with designs by Alex Morgan. Tapa is a bark cloth traditionally made in the Pacific islands. It could be painted or decorated by rubbing, stamping, stenciling, or dyeing. Many tapa designs contained geometrical patterns with repeated motifs such as fish and plants. Traditional dyes were usually black and rust-brown, although other colors are also known. Luna's Tapa Ukulele, like this ancient tradition, combines beautiful and authentic form with function.
