Description
In 1959, the Fender Precision Bass was changing and this is a classic recreation early models of that year. The alder body has a perfectly Aged Black Journeyman Relic lacquer finish, and the one-piece quartersawn maple neck. It has a ’fat '59-Style Oval C profile, topped by a 9.5” rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets and cream binding.
A hand-wound 1962 P-Bass pickup lies underneath the chrome pickup cover with controls for volume and tone with vintage P-Bass wiring. Other features include a single-ply gold anodized pickguard, vintage-style bass bridge with threaded steel saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and disk string tree and thumb rest. Also includes a deluxe Fender Custom Shop hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.

George Fullerton went to work for his close friend, Clarence "Leo" Fender, on Feb. 2, 1948, at the Fender® Electric Instrument Co. on Pomona Ave. in Fullerton, Calit. He became Leo Fender's right-hand man and, as such, played a pivotal role in the design and manufacture of then-revolutionary instruments and amplifiers that went on to rule the world. The Telecaster® guitar. The Precision® Bass guitar. The Bassman® amp And of course, the Stratocaster® guitar.
1957 was a benchmark year for the Stratocaster. The model had evolved quickly since its debut three years earlier, and 1957 was the year during which, many agree, the Stratocaster truly came into its own as an archetypal instrument, the year that a startlingly original design began to truly assert its role not only as a musical force, but also as a cultural icon that both fueled and reflected ages to come
Now, exactly 50 years later, the Fender Custom Shop is thrilled to say "Welcome home" to George Fullerton, whose legacy is honored with this very special instrument- one on which Mr. Fullerton himself has collaborated with our skilled Master Builders-The Limited Edition George Fullerton 50T Anniversary 1957 Stratocaster guitar.
Together with its accompanying Relic Tweed Pro Jr. IM amplifier, this instrument evokes the sheer devotion to craftsmanship and pioneering 1950s spirit of Fender; a spirit that George Fullerton personally helped found and foster, and a legendary guitar that he personally had an invaluable hand in creating. 1959 saw the advent of several important feature changes to the Stratocaster® including a slab rosewood fingerboard with clay position dots, a three-ply mint green pickguard with 8, 9 or 10 screws depending on the month it was built, and a metal spacer added to the string tree. This hardtail version would have been on the rare side, which ups the collectability and cool factors. Hand-wound 1959 Strat pickups are wired to a vintage ’59 control assembly and five-way switch. Other features include Closet Classic hardware, three-ply eight-hole mint green pickguard, vintage-style hardtail bridge with patent pending saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and wing string tree with metal spacer. Available in Faded Aged Sonic Blue and Chocolate Three-Color Sunburst finishes. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.

- CHANNEL OVERVIEW – Voiced to provide natural, pristine, transparent reproduction of the bass instrument. The circuitry consists of an FET feedback type variable gain circuit that provides wide range, continuously variable gain for use with a wide range of instrument pick-ups and preamps.

CONTOUR — continuously variable control of 2 vastly different response curves. In either CURVE position, when the SHAPE control is all the way off (CCW) the response curve is completely FLAT.
- Curve A (Blue) — a variable pre-shaped curve that boosts lows and highs while simultaneously cutting mids. The slopes are fairly gentle which keep the tone shaping very musical. This curve covers a wide range of sounds from flat to classic to modern depending on the position of the SHAPE control.
- Curve B (Amber) — a variable pre-shaped curve with attenuated high mids and highs, a low mid bump, and a slight roll-off of the lowest bass frequencies. Again, the slopes are fairly gentle which keep the tone shaping very musical. This curve is intended to provide sounds in the range of vintage amps and vintage cabinets that do not have tweeters.

The NC-112T is a compact, vertical cabinet design, and produces exceptional depth and clarity for its size and weight.
