The D-28 Modern Deluxe is a new take on Martin Vintage. This guitar is packed with custom features and modern technology that you have to see, feel, and hear for yourself. The vintage appointments include a Sitka spruce VINTAGE TONE SYSTEM® (VTS) top, a dovetail neck joint, and natural protein glue construction that give it the rich, fully aged Martin tone that has inspired generations. The look is unlike anything in our production line to date with European flamed maple binding, stylish gold frets, gold open-gear tuners, and a unique 1930s style script logo inlaid in pearl on the headstock. Some ultra-modern features include Liquidmetal® bridge pins with red dots and a composite carbon fiber bridgeplate that boosts volume. And we’ve included a new neck shape that is slightly asymmetrical for maximum hand comfort up and down the fretboard. This guitar is anything but standard.

Martin D-Robert Goetzl 1 Hand Painted HD-28 Acoustic Guitar - Hops And Barley

At the request of Chris Martin, artist Robert Goetzl was commissioned to design a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork and hand paint it on the top of a Dreadnought style guitar, specifically an HD-28. Unlike the many art guitars offered by the company, which are printed with custom artwork using a state-of-the-art Mamaki printer, this guitar is available for purchase with artwork that is hand-painted directly on the soundboard. The Hops and Barley theme was a suggestion made by Tim Teel, Martin’s Lead Instrument Designer, who also selected a new sinker redwood, which came from a river in the North Western United States, as Goetzl’s canvas. The sinker redwood top is paired with high-figured black walnut back and sides, and the combination produced a light-weight guitar with a responsive and rich sustain that is great for both fingerstyle and strumming. This one-of-a-kind instrument is as beautiful to see as it is to hear.

Martin Junior Series instruments are slightly smaller than our full-sized instruments, but you won’t have to sacrifice tone or volume, and you’ll gain plenty of comfort and portability. This Martin DJR-10E acoustic-electric bass is ideal if you love to write and practice on an unplugged bass but also need the option to plug it in to record or play live with your band. It includes a spruce top and sapele back and sides to deliver thumping Martin bass tones, whether you are unplugged or using the built-in Fishman® electronics. It also includes a fast, comfortable neck so you can keep the rhythm section tight. The DJR-10E Bass is strung with Martin short scale bass strings that are made specifically for this instrument.

Martin DX Johnny Cash Acoustic Guitar - Jett Black

In the early 1970s, Martin Guitar was commissioned to design an all-black lacquered D-35 for country star Johnny Cash. Though Martin had never considered such a request before, an all-black D-35 for the "Man in Black" was custom-made. Cash went on to play his custom D-35 on stage for the next 20 years. In 2006, Martin released a commemorative D-35 Johnny Cash edition. New for 2019, the DX Johnny Cash is a nod to the history between Cash and Martin Guitar. Designed in collaboration with John Carter Cash and the Cash Foundation management team, the guitar features a classic Dreadnought body shape constructed with Jett black high-pressure laminate (HPL) top, back and sides. Like the earlier commemorative edition, this instrument includes a custom fingerboard inlaid with stars and the "Cash" logo. Johnny Cash's signature appears on the rosette and label. This model comes with Fishman MX electronics and a soft gig bag embroidered with the "Cash" logo and is strung with Martin's Authentic Acoustic Lifespan 2.0 strings. The DX Johnny Cash was designed to be an accessible and playable guitar for anyone looking to honor the legacy of the legendary musician.

Ideal for experienced players looking to build on their skills, the Grand J-16E 12 String is a full-bodied, muscular guitar that generates well-balanced harmonics with a strong, solid low end. We craft it in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, with East Indian rosewood back and sides and a Sitka spruce top, so this powerhouse looks as good as it sounds. We also added scalloped X-bracing to create beautifully resonant tone that fills the room even when unplugged. And, while playing a 12 string can be challenging, our high-performance taper neck makes this one comfortable-playing, big-sounding guitar.
