The design of the Talman 1702AHM is a direct throwback to the popular twang machines of yesteryear. The maple neck is bolted to a solid ash body, giving you a tonal balance that is a favorite with Sweetwater guitarists. The comfortable C-shaped neck boasts a modern 12" fretboard radius for wide bending. And the 6-saddle IFX-Pro bridge delivers precise intonation. This bridge design and the two Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro single-coil pickups are responsible for the Talman Prestige's growling, twangy sound.
Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro pickups
The Alnico II Pro single-coil pickups in the Talman 1702AHM are wound to deliver the low output, clarity, and snap that characterized the sound of country music in the '50s and '60s. Alnico II rod magnets soften the treble attack that leads to excessive high-end bite. And the bridge Alnico II Pro is reverse wound to provide hum cancellation when you use both pickups in the middle pickup selector position.
