Its purchase was inspired by famous Flying V players Kirk admired and because he was looking for a fuller sound. And what a sound! Kirk still plays the original guitar to this day, and used it on all the early Metallica albums, including Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, And Justice for All, and The Black Album, making it one of the most important heavy metal guitars of all time. Only 200 were hand-made by the expert luthiers of the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville, Tennessee, artfully aged to match the original by the Murphy Lab. The included Certificate of Authenticity photo is signed by Kirk Hammett himself.

This Super 400 is 1 of 2 handcarved by Rick Henrichson of the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville, Tennessee. See below Rick's words on the inspiration of this guitar.
"My version of a Gibson Master Museum L-7 originally created by Ren Ferguson. The original had a spruce top however these have flamed maple top and backs. The shield design is representative of a coat of arms with surrounding carvings being scrollwork and acanthus found in many forms throughout the centuries. Fingerboard and headstock inlays remain true to the original design. The neck heel carve flows with the beauty and grace of the artwork in that time period."

Gibson is proud to introduce the new Falcon 20 1x12 Combo amplifier. It pays homage to Gibson’s legendary past as one of the world’s first manufacturers of electric guitar amplifiers. The Falcon 20 resurrects the Gibson amp icon and delivers vintage tone, reimagined in an upgraded rendering with valuable new features and all the original magic intact, and then some.
While inspired by the Gibson Falcon amps from the 1960s, this all-new design from renowned amp pioneer Randall Smith and the MESA/Boogie Design Team is handcrafted in Petaluma, California, and sets a new bar in low-power tone. The Falcon 20 stands apart from its predecessors due to the constructional upgrades and tonal improvements unearthed over Randall’s five decades of tube amp design experience and performance-pushing ideology that deliver nothing less than astonishing results.
The Falcon 20 features single-channel simplicity with a focus on great tone and ease of use. The ultra-simple, pure signal path design has controls consisting of Volume and Tone, plus the addition of footswitchable Reverb and Tremolo, which add dimensionality and motion and immensely increase the amp’s enjoyment and usefulness over a wide range of musical styles.
Players in the know have long understood that one of the secrets to great overdriven tone is power amp overdrive, and lower-powered amps are key to turning up and achieving that cranked power amp sound without overwhelming volume levels. The Gibson Falcon 20 1x12 Combo is ideal for those demanding touch-sensitive, nuanced response at the low to medium end of the gain and power spectrum, with a harmonically rich blend of vintage power-amp overdrive when turned up. All this tonal magic is brought to life via the vintage voice from a 12” Jensen® Blackbird 40 Alnico speaker, which perfectly complements the volume range and Class A power section. Players can select between Full, Half, or Low (12, 5, or 1-Watt) power modes of patented Multi-Watt™, 6V6, Pure Class A Power, or 15, 6, or 2-Watts with optional 6L6 Power Tubes, providing three levels of expressive, vintage Gibson tone and feel. This power flexibility enables even more ways to transition in and out of clip seamlessly and musically and making the Falcon 20 an ideal amp for club gigs, home practice, and recording purposes. With its modern refinements, high-end performance, and boutique construction, the Falcon 20 soars high above even the most prized vintage Gibson gems.
