The neck has a Modern Contoured Heel for exceptional upper fret access, and the headstock is adorned with a striking new mother-of-pearl inlay inspired by a design from the 1940s that was discovered in the Gibson archives. The Burstbucker™ Pro and Burstbucker Pro + pickups are paired with push/pull Volume and Tone potentiometers for flexible coil tap, phase, and Pure Bypass switching. The three gorgeous finishes are elegantly highlighted with gold hardware, making this not only a great-sounding and highly flexible instrument but also an exceptionally beautiful-looking modern rock machine. The Les Paul Standard 50s Mahogany Top has a solid mahogany body with a mahogany top replacing the usual maple top. This is similar to some Les Paul Customs, many of which also feature all-mahogany bodies, and it results in a slightly warmer, more midrange-focused tone. Everything else you love about the Les Paul Standard 50s remains the same, including the mahogany neck with a rounded, 50s Vintage profile with a rosewood fingerboard and trapezoid inlays. It's also equipped with an ABR-1, the classic-style Tune-O-Matic™ bridge, an aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, Vintage Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons, and black Top Hat knobs. The Burstbucker™ 1 (neck) and Burstbucker 2 (bridge) pickups are loaded with Alnico 2 magnets and wired to audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop™ capacitors.
