The music of multiple award-winning artist Margo Price transcends the boundaries of traditional country, Americana, and classic rock, and her Gibson J-45™ acoustic has always been by her side during her rise as a top country artist. Gibson Custom's Margo Price J-45 embodies the spirit, vision, and talent that has driven Margo to stardom and continues the nature-themed model tradition of Gibson. The Margo Price J-45 was inspired by her mid-60s J-45, a guitar she's called "my main baby; my guitar I play all the time." The Margo Price J-45 features a slightly thinner mahogany body with a red spruce top with traditional hand-scalloped advanced X-bracing, a mahogany neck with a Rounded profile and rosewood fretboard, and Grover® strap tuners with white buttons. The nut and saddle are bone, and the bridge pins are TUSQ®. The Margo Price J-45 also comes equipped with L.R. Baggs electronics, so it's studio and stage-ready right out of the included hardshell case. Margo was also inspired by red-tailed hawks, which feature prominently on the distinctive double 50s-style pickguards of her new signature guitar. As Margo says, "Red-tailed hawks have always been symbolistic to me. I see them everywhere, and I always have, as they are common all over the United States, but to me, they are otherworldly, and they always come to me in my time of need with messages of strength and perseverance. Red, as a color, relates to love, passion, and even anger, matters that we typically would associate with the heart, but if you look closely, the ends of the feathers are dipped in white, and the bird itself has a spiritual nature to them. When I'm on long road trips, I look out the window and count them alongside the highway. They pass over me at the most kismet times, reminding me to find strength in my vulnerability and to open up and connect to those around me. Born Iris Coleen Summers on July 7 , 1924 , Mary Ford was an accomplished guitarist, vocalist , and actress who was among the biggest recording artists of the early 1950s. Through her career in country music and her connections with Gene Autry and Eddie Dean , she developed a musical partnership with Gibson icon Les Paul that led to their marriage in 1949. In 1951 alone , the duo sold over six milion records, and between 1950 and 1954, they recorded a string of 16 top-ten hits that showcased Mary's rich, smooth voice, complex, perfectly executed harmonies that she sang along with herself through multi-track recording and overdubbing (a groundbreaking recording technique for the time), and versatile guitar playing that seamlessly blended country, jazz, and pop. In 1951, Mary and Les influenced the design of the ES-295 hollowbody with a custom order, which Mary often used. In 1958, it is believed that one Les Paul Goldtop model with an ES-295-style floral pickguard and matching armrest was made at the request of Mary Ford. Now, Gibson is proud to release the Mary Ford Les Paul Standard, based on that one-of-a-kind original. The Goldtop finish is accented by a Vintage Cherry back - rarity for a goldtop model. In addition to the cream and gold floral pickguard and armrest, it also features a mahogany body with a maple cap, mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard and SlimTaper profile, and is powered by a pair of Burstbucker pickups, with a Burstbucker 2 in the neck position and a Burstbucker 3 in the bridge position. A hardshell case completes this offering that honors one of the most beloved and innovative artists of the 20th century.

One of Gibson’s most storied models, this Historic Reissue instrument is hand-built in Gibson's celebrated Bozeman facility using the finest materials and styled after its late 1930s counterparts. Each is constructed with a select Thermally Aged Adirondack red spruce top with hot hide glue bracing, rosewood back and sides, and premium ebony for the fingerboard and bridge. No detail is left untouched: the bound fingerboard, vintage style script Gibson inlay, and unique pickguard add custom touches all over this authentic recreation.

In 1961, the Les Paul™ model was put on hiatus and an all-new design evolved into what is today known as the SG™ or “solid guitar.” The Gibson SG Standard '61 retains the styling of the original featuring a SlimTaper™ mahogany neck and a bound rosewood fingerboard.
