The 1957 Les Paul™ Reissue with TV Jones Power’Tron, VOS, Gold Sparkle Top brings a bold new voice to one of Gibson’s most beloved classics. Part of the Gibson Custom Limited Edition Collection, it represents the adventurous spirit that has defined countless Made to Measure custom orders and celebrates the skill and imagination of the artisans at the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville, Tennessee. This reissue channels the unmistakable charisma of a late 50s Les Paul, then elevates it with a dazzling Gold Sparkle finish and a unique electronic configuration that gives it a sonic identity all its own.

The solidbody construction begins with a mahogany back and a carved maple top, joined with the same precision and using the same materials as those used on prized originals from the late 50s. Its VOS nitrocellulose lacquer finish brings a softly aged character that enhances the Gold Sparkle top’s depth and dimension, while the single ply top binding completes the classic Les Paul silhouette. There’s no weight relief—just the full, expressive resonance of traditional tonewoods working in harmony.

The mahogany neck’s 1950s Chunky D profile delivers the substantial feel players associate with some of the best examples from 1957, with a long neck tenon that reinforces sustain and stability. A rosewood fretboard with narrow/tall frets, cellulose trapezoid inlays, single ply binding, and a 12 inch radius offers an inviting, vintage correct playing experience. The 24.75-inch scale length, nylon nut, and Kluson® Deluxe tuning machines round out a period-authentic feature set.

What truly sets this Limited Edition model apart is its use of TV Jones® Power’Tron pickups. While a 1957 Les Paul Reissue is typically voiced with Custombucker humbuckers designed to replicate Patent Applied For pickups, the Power’Tron delivers a distinctive sound of its own. Its tonal character carries some of the familiar DNA of a Patent Applied For humbucking pickup, infused with elements found in a TV Jones Filter’Tron, but with more windings, higher output, and a darker overall response than a Filter’Tron. The result is a compelling hybrid voice—full, articulate, dynamic, and well-suited to the Les Paul’s rich acoustic foundation. Two volume and two tone controls, along with a three-way toggle, provide familiar, intuitive control of this unique sonic palette.

Nickel hardware, an ABR 1 Tune O Matic™ bridge, a Stop Bar tailpiece, cream plastics, gold Top Hat knobs, and nickel pickup covers contribute to a classic late 50s aesthetic. Each instrument includes a Lifton™ reissue hardshell case and a Certificate of Authenticity.

The Les Paul Standard 60s Double Trouble delivers all of the features and performance of our regular Les Paul™ Standard 60s models but with even more vintage appeal. These limited-run Les Paul models differ from our standard Les Paul Standard 60s models in two respects. First, the Burstbucker™M 61R and Burstbucker 61T humbucker™M pickups are left uncovered, and each has Double Classic White bobbins and is fitted with the standard Alnico 5 magnets. The second difference is in the finish. The finish colors are "Vintage" variations on our standard nitrocellulose lacquer finishes. Our standard gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finishes represent the finishes on brand-new models from the 1950s, while the full-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer Vintage finishes on the Les Paul Standard 60s Double Trouble models are slightly faded when compared to the standard versions, like the subtly faded light vintage aging that occurs over several years. The burst patterns vary somewhat from guitar to guitar since each is individually hand-sprayed.

Of course, all of the standard features that make the Les Paul Standard 60s models so widely loved are all still here, including a solid, non-weight-relieved mahogany body with an AA figured maple top and a Slim Taper™ profile mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and trapezoid inlays. The Les Paul Standard 60s Double Trouble is equipped with an ABR-1, the classic-style Tune-O-Matic ™ bridge, an aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, Grover® Rotomatic® tuners with Kidney buttons, and gold Top Hat knobs with silver reflectors and dial pointers. The uncovered Burstbucker™M 61R (neck) and Burstbucker 61T (bridge) pickups are internally the same as their standard Burstbucker counterparts, with the exception of the Double Classic White bobbins. They are handcrafted in the Gibson Pickup Shop, loaded with Alnico 5 magnets, and hand-wired with audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop® capacitors. The Double Classic White pickup bobbins and Vintage finishes combine to give the Les Paul Standard 60s Double Trouble an elegant vintage vibe. While they have a vintage-style finish and an accessible price, production is limited to only 500 guitars in each color, meaning there's limited availability, so act fast and get your favorite now while you still can!

The Les Paul™ Custom was first introduced in 1953 as an upscale version of the Les Paul model. The model was requested by Les Paul himself, who wanted a black version of the Les Paul guitar that “looked like a tuxedo.” In 1961, the single cutaway Les Paul Custom was discontinued in favor of a new double-cutaway model that would later become known as the SG™ Custom, and the original single cutaway model was reintroduced in 1968. During the 1970s, production of the Les Paul Custom transitioned from Kalamazoo to Nashville, and the Les Paul Custom received various changes that further refined the model, including a multi-piece maple top that replaced the original all-mahogany-body construction along with a new maple neck. Today, these 70s-era Les Paul Customs are some of the fastest-appreciating guitars on the vintage market. Now, after 20 years of offering the Les Paul Custom only through Gibson Custom, Gibson is proud to release the Les Paul Custom 70s. It features classic 1970s specs, including a mahogany body with a three-piece maple top. The body is bound with 5-ply top binding and 3-ply back binding. The maple neck has a 70s profile and a volute and is topped with a bound ebony fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and mother-of-pearl block inlays. The bound headstock is also adorned with mother-of-pearl in the form of the famous Custom Split Diamond mother-of-pearl headstock inlay, which originated with the Gibson Super 400 and has become synonymous with the Les Paul Custom. The Les Paul Custom 70s features gold hardware, including an aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge, an aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, and smooth-turning Grover® Rotomatic® with Keystone button tuners for reliable tuning stability. Even the smallest details have been recreated, including Posi-Lok™ strap locks, a 5-ply pickguard, and 70s-era-approved Witch Hat control knobs. The electronics are also era-appropriate, with a pair of Calibrated T-Type humbuckers™ with individual volume and tone controls that are hand-wired to Orange Drop® capacitors. The Les Paul Custom 70s is available in four gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finishes, including Ebony, Tobacco Burst, Wine Red, and even a version with a beautiful Buttercream Top, and each comes packed in a hardshell case for protection when it’s in storage and traveling. The Gibson Les Paul™ Special was first introduced as a single cutaway model in 1955, and with the exception of the sunburst Standards that were produced from 1958-1960, it was the last of the original 50s-era Les Paul model variants to be introduced. An enhanced version of the Les Paul Junior with increased sonic flexibility, it featured two P-90 pickups instead of the single P-90 found on the Junior and also added a bit of extra bling in the form of a bound fretboard and a mother-of-pearl headstock logo. In 1958, the body shape was revised from a single cutaway to a double cutaway, which delivered improved fretboard access, and the Special hit its stride in 1960 when a thinner Slim Taper™M neck profile and a lower neck pickup placement made it more robust and easier to play than ever. Now, Epiphone, in partnership with Gibson Custom, is proud to introduce the 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue, an Inspired by Gibson Custom recreation of the sought-after 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut. Like the originals, it features a slab mahogany body with double cutaways that provide excellent access to the entire length of the fretboard. The one-piece mahogany neck has a fast-playing 60s SlimTaper profile and is capped with a rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and mother-of-pearl dot position marker inlays. The fretboard has a 12" radius that makes playing first-position chords and solos with string bends further up the neck equally effortless. The Gibson "open book" style headstock is equipped with Epiphone Deluxe three-on-a-plate tuners with white buttons and a Graph Tech® nut help to keep the tuning nice and stable, while a historic style Wraparound bridge with intonation screws solidly anchors the strings at the other end and contributes to the excellent sustain that the Les Paul Special is famous for. A pair of USA-made P-90 Soapbar pickups from Gibson Custom that can go from sweet and clean to outright nasty and dirty sounding are hand-wired to individual volume and tone controls with high-quality CTS® potentiometers and Bumblebee paper-in-oil capacitors for authentic vintage tones that are sure to please even the most tone-conscious players.
