First introduced in 1942, the Gibson J-45 ™ has remained a mainstay Gibson acoustic model. It has earned its name as "The Workhorse" due to its wide acceptance, no-nonsense simplicity, and understated elegance. It's one of the most recorded acoustic guitars in history and Gibson's best-selling acoustic model of all time. Handcrafted with care in Bozeman, Montana, by Gibson's expert acoustic luthiers, the new Gibson J-45 Special offers players a USA-built Gibson acoustic guitar at a very attractive price. The J-45 Special has a round shoulder body constructed using genuine solid mahogany for the back and sides and a solid Sitka spruce top. The top is reinforced with our traditional scalloped X-bracing. This combination of tonewoods delivers a warm, balanced tone with excellent dynamic range that is great for any musical genre. The "concert depth" body is slightly thinner than on a J-45 Standard, giving the J-45 Special a leaner and tighter bass response that sits perfectly in the mix and also makes it easier to hold. The utile neck is attached to the body with a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint, and like all Gibson acoustic guitars, it is affixed with hot hide glue. The neck has a comfortable and fast-playing Slim Taper ™M profile, and the rosewood fretboard has a 12" radius and is adorned with simple mother-of-pearl dot inlays and is fitted with 20 standard frets. The traditional belly-up rosewood bridge is equipped with a TUSQ® saddle, and the nut and bridge pins are also TUSQ. High-quality Grover® Rotomatic® tuners ensure solid tuning stability. The J-45 Special is finished in satin nitrocellulose lacquer in vour choice of Satin Vintage Sunburst or Satin Wine Red. It comes with an L.R. Baggs Element Bronze under-saddle piezo pickup with active electronics and an easily accessible soundhole-mounted volume control pre-installed for studio-quality plug-and-play anywhere. Now, Gibson is proud to introduce the updated J-45 Studio Rosewood. The J-45 Studio Rosewood is handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, using all-solid tonewoods, including a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer-finished Sitka spruce top for wide dynamic range, playing responsiveness, and balanced tone. The satin nitrocellulose lacquer-finished rosewood used for crafting the back and sides delivers a bit more rich-sounding bass and sparkling treble overtones than the traditional mahogany-bodied J-45 models. The J-45 Studio Rosewood’s full-depth, round shoulder body ensures rich, deep tone and outstanding volume and projection. The J-45 Studio Rosewood is equipped with an Advanced Response profile and satin nitrocellulose lacquer-finished utile neck for smooth, easy playability. The Advanced Response neck profile sits in between some of the other Gibson neck profiles and is not too large or too thin but fits “just right” in the hand for many players. The rosewood fretboard has 20 standard-sized frets and is adorned with the simple mother-of-pearl dot inlays, one of the visual hallmarks of the iconic J-45. Both the top and back feature single-ply binding around the perimeter. The narrower waist of an L-00 body shape provides a focused and nuanced sound, naturally giving it a leaner and tighter bass response that sits perfectly in the mix. The tone is ideal for fingerstyle playing and blues and works very well for other genres and playing styles, too. The utile neck is attached to the body with a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint, and like all Gibson acoustic guitars, it is affixed with hot hide glue. Gibson Custom's Margo Price J-45 embodies the spirit, vision, and talent that has driven Margo to stardom and continues the nature-themed model tradition of Gibson. The Margo Price J-45 was inspired by her mid-60s J-45, a guitar she's called "my main baby; my guitar I play all the time." The Margo Price J-45 features a slightly thinner mahogany body with a red spruce top with traditional hand-scalloped advanced X-bracing, a mahogany neck with a Rounded profile and rosewood fretboard, and Grover® strap tuners with white buttons. The nut and saddle are bone, and the bridge pins are TUSQ®. The Margo Price J-45 also comes equipped with L.R. Baggs electronics, so it's studio and stage-ready right out of the included hardshell case. Margo was also inspired by red-tailed hawks, which feature prominently on the distinctive double 50s-style pickguards of her new signature guitar. As Margo says, "Red-tailed hawks have always been symbolistic to me. I see them everywhere, and I always have, as they are common all over the United States, but to me, they are otherworldly, and they always come to me in my time of need with messages of strength and perseverance. One of Gibson’s most storied models, this Historic Reissue instrument is hand-built in Gibson's celebrated Bozeman facility using the finest materials and styled after its late 1930s counterparts. Each is constructed with a select Thermally Aged Adirondack red spruce top with hot hide glue bracing, rosewood back and sides, and premium ebony for the fingerboard and bridge. No detail is left untouched: the bound fingerboard, vintage style script Gibson inlay, and unique pickguard add custom touches all over this authentic recreation.

The Gibson logo and Crown are also mother-of-pearl, as is the Cash logo on the unique-to-this model, designed by Rosanne and her husband, John Leventhal, with inspiration from her father’s iconic J-200 pickguard shape. Faithful to the Gretsch® "Rex" parlor guitars of the 1930s, '40s and '50s, the G9500 Jim Dandy™ Flat Top parlor-style model embodies everything that was great about everyone's first guitar.
Everything and then some that is, because the G9500 is crafted with select guitar woods and is fully lined and braced for warm and pleasing tone, with a 24" scale for endless hours of playing comfort.
Perfect for both picked and fingerstyle playing, the Jim Dandy features a non-cutaway basswood body with X-bracing for a powerful and resonant voice, and a top-load walnut bridge with compensated synthetic bone saddle for even intonation along the length of the neck. Joining the body at the 12th fret, the “C”-shape nato neck hosts a comfortable, smooth-playing walnut fingerboard with vintage-style frets and pearloid dot inlays.
Wrapped in a classic Two-Tone Sunburst finish, the G9500 also has 1950s-style vintage open-gear die-cast tuning machines, nickel hardware and single-ply white pickguard featuring a “G” graphic.
Ideal for songwriting, practice or even as a travel guitar, this little wonder is great for beginners or seasoned pros alike. Comfortable to play, and full of woody vintage tone with full-sounding bass, the Jim Dandy will inspire hours of playing joy.
