Following the popularity of Jason Richardson’s striking signature model, meet the new 6-string Richardson Cutlass for the more traditional player. Featuring a custom contoured lower horn for fret access, roasted maple neck with rosewood fretboard, and highly figured Poplar Burl top, it features all the appointments of the original, but in a sleek 6-string configuration. The Cutlass also offers high output humbuckers, a 12dB push-push volume boost, coil-tap push-push tone control, and modern tremolo.
The Westbury is a 21st-century update of the Supro electric solid-body guitar. The elegant comfort of the 1960’s-era beveled-edge Ozark body shape and the mighty sound of the original field-coil pickups have been enhanced with an ultra-fast satin neck, Tune-o-matic bridge and updated wave tailpiece. The result is a modern player’s instrument with old-school style and authentic Supro tone.
The unique Gold Foil pickups found in the Supro Westbury are faithful reproductions of the original magnetics developed for Valco by Ralph Keller in the early 1950s. These pickups, which gave voice to the vintage Chicago-made Supro guitars, have a massive, broadband sound with remarkably low noise for a single-coil design. The humbucker-sized Gold Foil bridge pickup found in the Westbury is slightly overwound, while the neck pickup is reverse-wound in order to provide fully hum-cancelling sound when the two pickups are combined by selecting the middle position of the 3-way toggle switch.
The time-tested tone wood recipe of an alder body paired with a 25.5 in.-scale maple neck and rosewood fretboard combine with the Westbury's vintage-correct pickups to produce an exceptionally dynamic playing experience. Blending vintage American tone with refined set-neck design, the Supro Westbury is intended for the professional musician who needs an ergonomic and versatile guitar capable of handling most genres of music with authority. The Westbury’s dual pickup configuration lets the player switch effortlessly between warm, single-coil neck pickup sounds, throaty bridge tones, or a perfectly balanced, parallel combination of both pickups for rhythm work.
The Westbury guitar and its relatives in the Island Series represent the rebirth of the Supro brand as a stringed instrument manufacturer. The Supro Island Series of guitars was designed by David Koltai and Glenn Sweetwood, with technical assistance from master designer Trevor Wilkinson and vintage pickup expert Ken Calvet. Case sold separately.
Along with its chameleonic tone-shifting powers and cross-genre versatility, our T5z Classic has always borne a minimal, functional aesthetic that reflects its musical utility. Here, we’re kicking up the visuals with a stunning Hawaiian koa top rich with organic variegation and natural hues—a style usually reserved for Custom or Pro T5z models. Musically, the T5z Classic is as bold and pragmatic as you’d expect from our line of hollowbody hybrids, with a comfortable neck that feels easy in the fretting hand whether you’re playing cowboy chords or flying lead licks. The five-way switching system allows you to shape your tone around three pickups—an acoustic body sensor and two humbuckers—so that you can bend between warm acoustic sounds and searing electric sizzle on a dime. Details for this model include a handsome shaded edgeburst top treatment, a satin finish and two F-holes on an unbound body, showcasing Hawaiian koa’s natural beauty. Small Diamond fretboard inlays in Italian acrylic and satin black tuners round out the visuals. This model ships in a Taylor deluxe hardshell case.
The Taylor T5z Limited acoustic-electric guitar bridges the electric and acoustic worlds, offering you a dynamic range of sounds in one beautifully appointed hollowbody instrument. This customized limited-edition T5z features a quilted bigleaf maple top, accented by a hand-selected West African ebony fretboard featuring rare gray marbling. As a T5z, it features the unique Taylor three-pickup configuration—two humbuckers and an acoustic body sensor—controlled by five-way switching, which allows you to easily swap between warm acoustic tones, hot electric leads and a range of sounds in between. Custom visual details for this NAMM-exclusive build include a striking shark gray finish, Gotoh 510 tuners in antique chrome, gray bone bridge pins with awabi dots and 4 mm dot inlays in paua.
