The Les Paul Music City Special - 50th Anniversary is an updated, modern twist on two historical Gibson models, taking much of its inspiration from the 70s-era Marauder that was designed by Bill Lawrence, with a touch of the Music City Jr. in its DNA. Over the years, the Marauder has been used by artists from Adam Jones to Paul Stanley. This unique commemorative model pays tribute to the early days of Gibson's Nashville production and celebrates Gibson's 50 years of producing world-class guitars in Music City while delivering outstanding value to modern players. The lightweight, contoured body is solid poplar. The maple neck has a fast-playing and comfortable Slim Taper ™ profile and is equipped with a striped ebony fretboard that is adorned with acrylic dot inlays and outfitted with 22 medium jumbo frets. The 12" fretboard radius makes first-position chords and string bends higher up the fretboard equally effortless. The hardware is chrome-plated, including the Nashville Tune-O-Matic ™ bridge, aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners, and output jack plate cover. A black 5-ply pickguard holds two Gibson 70s Tribute humbucker ™ pickups, which are wired to an intuitive and comfortable control layout consisting of master volume and master tone controls with black Top Hat knobs and a three-way pickup selector toggle switch. Gibson's Les Paul™ is one of the all-time great electric guitar designs and has been played by some of the world's most talented and best-loved musicians. With its single-cutaway mahogany body and often flamed maple top, the look of the Les Paul is iconic. In the past, Gibson has produced acoustic versions of the Les Paul; first, from 1969 until 1973, in the form of a Jumbo cutaway model, and from 2000 to 2003, Gibson Custom made a solidbody-style Les Paul Acoustic. Now, Gibson is proud to introduce the Les Paul Parlor Acoustic. It features a smaller, parlor-sized body that is reminiscent of a scaled-down SJ-200™M in overall shape. The back and sides of the Les Paul Parlor Acoustic are made from solid mahogany, while the bookmatched top is supported by traditional scalloped X-bracing and is made from solid AAA flame maple. Both the top and back feature single-ply cream binding. The top is every bit as gorgeous as the bookmatched tops you'll find on many of our electric models, and as with the electrics, the maple adds a bit of bite and note definition to the warm tone from the mahogany body. The mahogany neck has a comfortable and fast-playing Advanced Response profile that's neither too beefy nor too slim and is topped with a bound rosewood fretboard that has a 12" radius, is equipped with 19 standard frets, and is adorned with pearloid trapezoid inlays. The neck is attached to the body with a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint. The rosewood bridge is installed in a belly-down orientation, and the nut, saddle, and bridge pins are all TUSQ®. The TUSQ nut and saddle, along with the nickel-plated Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, help ensure the tuning stays where you set it so you can spend more time playing and less time tuning. The single-ply cream pickguard's shape was inspired by the pickguards used on Les Paul Standard electric guitars and further reinforces the Les Paul aesthetic, as does the mother-of-pearl Gibson logo and gold Les Paul Model decal on the headstock. First, the Burstbucker™M 1 and Burstbucker 2 pickups are left uncovered, and each has Double Classic White bobbins and is fitted with the standard Alnico 2 magnets. The second difference is in the finish. The finish colors are "Vintage" variations on our standard nitrocellulose lacquer finishes. Our standard gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finishes represent the finishes on brand-new models from the 1950s, while the full-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer Vintage finishes on the Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble models are slightly faded when compared to the standard versions, like the subtly faded light vintage aging that occurs over several years. The Les Paul Studio Figured Top is a refreshed and improved version of the Les Paul Studio and is better and more versatile than ever. It features an Ultra Modern weight-relieved mahogany body, making it lighter and more comfortable to play. The carved, AA figured maple cap not only looks great but also adds brightness and definition to the overall tone and combines perfectly with the warmth and midrange punch from the mahogany body for that legendary Les Paul sound that has been featured on countless hit recordings and concert stages worldwide for decades. The glued-in mahogany neck provides solid coupling between the neck and body for increased resonance and sustain. The neck features a traditional heel and an easy-playing SlimTaper™ profile, and it is topped with a bound rosewood fretboard equipped with acrylic trapezoid inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets. The 12” fretboard radius makes playing chords and lead string bending equally effortless without worrying about string bends fretting out. The classic Vintage Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons add to the guitar’s vintage-inspired visual appeal, and together with the fully adjustable aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic™ bridge, lightweight aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, and Graph Tech® nut, help to keep the tuning stability rock-solid.

The Les Paul Studio Figured Top is also well-equipped in the electronics department. It has a pair of Gibson’s Burstbucker™ Pro pickups and a three-way pickup selector switch that allows you to use the pickups individually or use them together. Each pickup is wired to individual volume controls, so you can blend the sound from the two pickups in any ratio you choose. Each volume control has a push/pull switch for coil tapping, giving you two different sounds from each pickup, and each pickup also has an individual tone control for even more sonic versatility. The Gibson LG-2 was first introduced in 1942 during the “Banner” era and quickly became a beloved small-body acoustic guitar model that was renowned for its big sound. The LG-2 was initially released with mahogany backs and sides paired with red spruce tops, but due to wartime shortages, material substitutions were common. Gibson sometimes used maple backs and sides, and LG-2 models with mahogany tops were also produced. Now, Gibson is proud to introduce the new LG-2 All-Mahogany Faded, a modern reinterpretation of those all-mahogany vintage LG-2 models. The LG-2 All Mahogany Faded is constructed using solid mahogany for the back and sides, as well as a solid mahogany soundboard. The mahogany top is reinforced with traditional scalloped X-bracing, and the body features simple black binding on the top and back. The mahogany neck features a rounded profile and is attached to the body using a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint. The neck is capped with an unbound rosewood fretboard, which is equipped with 20 standard frets and adorned with classy yet straightforward mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The LG-2 All Mahogany Faded is fitted with a sloped, rectangular, closed-slot bridge made from rosewood. The bridge features a bone nut, which is also made of bone, while the bridge pins are TUSQ®. Grover® strap tuners with white buttons ensure solid tuning stability and, along with the teardrop pickguard, add to the instrument’s vintage charm.

The LG-2 All Mahogany Faded’s all-mahogany top and body give it a warmer, rounder, and smoother sound than a guitar with a similar size and a spruce top, making it an ideal choice for folk, blues, and fingerstyle playing. The LG-2 All Mahogany Faded’s smaller dimensions also make it easier to hold than acoustic guitars with larger bodies. In a nod to the needs of modern performers and recording guitarists, the LG-2 All Mahogany Faded is factory-equipped with an L.R. Baggs™ VTC under-saddle transducer and built-in preamp. The L.R. The music of multiple award-winning artist Margo Price transcends the boundaries of traditional country, Americana, and classic rock, and her Gibson J-45™ acoustic has always been by her side during her rise as a top country artist. Gibson Custom's Margo Price J-45 embodies the spirit, vision, and talent that has driven Margo to stardom and continues the nature-themed model tradition of Gibson. The Margo Price J-45 was inspired by her mid-60s J-45, a guitar she's called "my main baby; my guitar I play all the time." The Margo Price J-45 features a slightly thinner mahogany body with a red spruce top with traditional hand-scalloped advanced X-bracing, a mahogany neck with a Rounded profile and rosewood fretboard, and Grover® strap tuners with white buttons. The nut and saddle are bone, and the bridge pins are TUSQ®. The Margo Price J-45 also comes equipped with L.R. Baggs electronics, so it's studio and stage-ready right out of the included hardshell case. Margo was also inspired by red-tailed hawks, which feature prominently on the distinctive double 50s-style pickguards of her new signature guitar. As Margo says, "Red-tailed hawks have always been symbolistic to me. I see them everywhere, and I always have, as they are common all over the United States, but to me, they are otherworldly, and they always come to me in my time of need with messages of strength and perseverance. Red, as a color, relates to love, passion, and even anger, matters that we typically would associate with the heart, but if you look closely, the ends of the feathers are dipped in white, and the bird itself has a spiritual nature to them. When I'm on long road trips, I look out the window and count them alongside the highway. They pass over me at the most kismet times, reminding me to find strength in my vulnerability and to open up and connect to those around me. I hope this guitar will remind those who play it these lessons as well."
