They feature a mahogany body with a maple cap, and the models with translucent finishes have an added AAA flame maple veneer visible through the finish for that classic “flame top” look. The mahogany neck sports a laurel fretboard with pearloid trapezoid inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets, and a fast-playing 60s SlimTaper™ profile. The headstock is equipped with quality Grover® Rotomatic® tuning machines and a Graph Tech® nut for rock-solid tuning stability, so you can spend more time playing and less time tuning. The Les Paul Standard 60s is powered by a perfectly balanced set of Epiphone’s acclaimed Probucker™ pickups, with a Probucker 2 in the neck position and a slightly hotter Probucker 3 in the bridge, and each pickup is wired to its own individual set of volume and tone controls that feature CTS® potentiometers. It has fooled experts, vintage purists, and even luthiers who have worked with the best vintage examples from the late 50s and early 60s. Epiphone ProBucker™ humbuckers are the real deal--made with 18% Nickel Silver unit bases and covers, the same alloy used by Gibson at the Kalamazoo factory when the humbucker was first invented. The use of Nickel Silver reduces the occurrence of eddy currents due to low conductivity and provides a more transparent and crisp output. The size and shape of the bobbins also has a great impact on tonal response. And the bobbins used on ProBucker™ pickups duplicate the size and shape of the gold standard in the industry, Gibson humbuckers. Epiphone ProBucker™ pickups also feature sand cast Alnico II magnets, high quality 4 conductor lead wire, and are vacuum wax potted to eliminate microphonics.

The Epiphone S Custom has a contoured, double-cutaway mahogany body that delivers exceptional access to all 22 frets. The glued-in mahogany neck adds to the model's renowned sustain. The neck has a 1960 Slim Taper C profile that isn't quite as thin as some Slim Taper neck profiles but is still fast and comfortable to play. The neck is capped with a bound ebony fretboard equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets and is adorned with Custom pearloid block inlays. The 12" fretboard radius is equally comfortable and well suited for first-position chording and for string bends further up the neck without the risk of your bends fretting out. The Epiphone S Standard has a contoured, double-cutaway mahogany body that delivers unimpeded access to all 22 frets. The glued-in mahogany neck adds to the model's renowned sustain. The neck has a fast-playing SlimTaper™ C profile and is capped with a bound laurel fretboard that is equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets and is adorned with pearloid trapezoid inlays. The fretboard's 12" radius makes playing first-position chords easy while ensuring that string bends don't fret out when you play them. High-quality Grover® Rotomatic® tuning machines and a Graph Tech™ nut, paired with a fully adiustable Epiphone LockTone™M Tune-O-Matic ™ bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece, work together to keep the tuning stability and intonation rock-solid.
The Epiphone SG Standard is equipped with a pair of Epiphone's acclaimed ProBucker™M humbucking pickups that deliver all of the vintage-approved SG tones you could ask for.
A ProBucker™M 2 humbucker™ is in the neck position, and a slightly hotter ProBucker 3 is installed in the bridge position. Each of the pickups is wired to its own individual volume and tone controls, along with a three-way toggle pickup selector switch, which lets you use either pickup alone or combine them in whatever ratio suits your mood and muse.
