To celebrate 70 years of the Stratocaster®—the platinum anniversary of the world’s greatest electric guitar—the Fender Custom Shop introduces the Limited Edition 70th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster®. Its two-piece select ash body (with offset seam on the treble side) resonates with singing highs, sweet midrange and tight lows, and wears a gorgeous Wide Fade Two-Color Sunburst lacquer finish in a number of Custom Shop treatments with varying degrees of wear, including Time Capsule, NOS, Deluxe Closet Classic, Relic®, Journeyman Relic®, Heavy Relic® and Super Heavy Relic®.
Its one-piece quartersawn maple neck is fashioned with a special 70th anniversary Soft “V” profile based on an incredible Strat® neck from July 1954. This is topped with vintage compound-radius fingerboard (7.25” to 9.5”) with 21 medium vintage (47095) frets and a 1.625” bone nut. Three Custom Shop hand-wound ’54 Strat® pickups deliver that classic Strat® voice with clear, bell-like highs, routed through vintage '54 Strat® wiring with wax paper cap and five-way switching.
Other premium features and authentic first-year Strat® appointments include a single-ply white pickguard and serial-number back plate, 1954-style ABS white pickup covers and control knobs, Custom Shop vintage synchronized tremolo bridge, vintage-style tuners, disc string tree, special 70th Anniversary Stratocaster® neck plate, deluxe embroidered hardshell case, special “case candy” kit and certificate of authenticity.

Inspired by a classic 1960 Stratocaster and tweaked for modern players, the Limited Edition 60 Roasted Strat Heavy Relic begs to be picked up and played. We started with a roasted alder body and ultra-stable quartersawn maple neck with a '60 Oval C"-shaped profile, ideal for almost any playing style. George Fullerton went to work for his close friend, Clarence "Leo" Fender, on Feb. 2, 1948, at the Fender® Electric Instrument Co. on Pomona Ave. in Fullerton, Calit. He became Leo Fender's right-hand man and, as such, played a pivotal role in the design and manufacture of then-revolutionary instruments and amplifiers that went on to rule the world. The Telecaster® guitar. The Precision® Bass guitar. The Bassman® amp And of course, the Stratocaster® guitar.
1957 was a benchmark year for the Stratocaster. The model had evolved quickly since its debut three years earlier, and 1957 was the year during which, many agree, the Stratocaster truly came into its own as an archetypal instrument, the year that a startlingly original design began to truly assert its role not only as a musical force, but also as a cultural icon that both fueled and reflected ages to come
Now, exactly 50 years later, the Fender Custom Shop is thrilled to say "Welcome home" to George Fullerton, whose legacy is honored with this very special instrument- one on which Mr. Fullerton himself has collaborated with our skilled Master Builders-The Limited Edition George Fullerton 50T Anniversary 1957 Stratocaster guitar.
Together with its accompanying Relic Tweed Pro Jr. IM amplifier, this instrument evokes the sheer devotion to craftsmanship and pioneering 1950s spirit of Fender; a spirit that George Fullerton personally helped found and foster, and a legendary guitar that he personally had an invaluable hand in creating. It is our fond and sincere hope that you enjoy playing this instrument as much as we enjoyed creating it with Mr. Fullerton.

From playing bass with Buddy Holly in the late-‘50s to writing and preforming with The Highwaymen well into the ‘90’s, Waylon Jennings etched a legacy in music history unlike any other. The Outlaw Country pioneer was rarely seen without a Fender in hand—and more often than not, it was his prized, leather-clad 1954 Telecaster.
Custom Shop Masterbuilder David Brown partnered with the Jennings family to recreate Waylon’s iconic Telecaster—detailing all the wear from decades of use. The 2-piece ash body is finished in period-correct Butterscotch Blonde before being wrapped in the distinctive, hand-tooled leather cover and paired with a 10/56 “V”-shaped, one-piece quartersawn maple neck. Custom Shop Hand-Wound ‘50/’51 Blackguard pickups provide unmistakable early-‘50s Telecaster tones with clear, crisp highs with well-balanced midrange and low end.
Additional features include: 7.25” Radius; 21 Vintage Upgrade (45085) Frets; Modern Telecaster Wiring with 3-Way Switch; ‘51-’54 Tele® Bridge with Brass Barrel Saddles; Schaller M6 Tuning Machines with Low E Banjo Tuner; Bone Nut; Single Disc String Tree; Custom Western Tooled Case; Custom Tooled Leather Strap; Certificate of Authenticity.

The Limited Edition Brent Mason Telecaster, masterbuilt by Kyle McMillin, is inspired by the distinctive Tele Mason has used for countless recordings and performances with a one-of-a-kind-tone that has made him one of Nashville’s most sought-after session aces. For this detailed recreation, we had an amazing time in Nashville working closely with Mason—painstakingly disassembling the guitar, measuring every detail precisely and examining every last part.
Truly, it’s hard to tell this guitar from the custom-powerhouse original guitar Mason has put through its paces for so many years. From the black grease and oil marks on the primer-gray custom Heavy Relic® finish to the heavily worn quartersawn Relic maple neck, it effortlessly harkens back to Mason’s hard-played and long-serving original. A trio of Seymour Duncan® pickups includes a mini humbucking neck pickup, ’80s-style hot-stack middle pickup and vintage-stack Telecaster bridge pickup, all wired to a custom control assembly with individual volume for the middle pickup, a push/pull tone knob that deactivates the middle pickup when pulled, and three-way blade switching.
Other custom appointments include an off-center-seam ash body, 1967 “C” neck profile, 7.25”-radius round-laminated quartersawn maple fingerboard with 21 vintage frets and black pearloid face dots, and a Joe Glaser B-Bender system for extra Nashville twang. Deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity included.

The Limited Edition Roasted ’61 Strat Super Heavy Relic embodies everything that made 1961 such a special year, with some bad-to-the-bone modifications found only in the Fender Custom Shop that will entice the most discerning player. A super-heavy relic lacquer finish imparts the look and feel of a guitar that has relentlessly lit up stage after stage for many years. Its two-piece select alder body (ash on aged natural finish model) is roasted to create a rich dark color and to simulate a guitar that has aged with a decrease in wood moisture content and an increase in sustain.
The tinted and roasted quartersawn maple neck has a chunky custom large “C” profile, topped by a 9.5”-radius flat-lam rosewood fingerboard with 21 jumbo (6100) frets. Hot hand-wound Texas Special pickups provide searing tone, with five-way switching and a Strat “1/2 blender” wiring, which lets players blend the neck and bridge pickup in switch positions 1 and 2.
Other features include a three-ply mint green pickguard, Custom Shop vintage-style synchronized tremolo, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut, and wing string tree with metal spacer. Also includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
