Our cutaway acoustic/electric Grand Auditorium 414ce-R has long been a staple of gigging and recreational players thanks to its musical versatility and clean, workmanlike aesthetic. Crafted with back and sides of solid Indian Rosewood and a solid Sitka spruce top, the 414ce-R now also features our V-Class bracing, a game-changing sonic engine that powers these tonewoods to produce more volume, longer sustain, and stronger projection. The more orderly movement of the top, courtesy of the new bracing design, also improves the intonation up and down the neck, making chords sing like never before, without sour notes or the “rub” of slight dissonance within certain chords. The difference comes through loud and clear, whether you’re on the couch, recording into a mic, or plugged in at a gig. The Rosewood/Sitka pairing yields a mix of powerful midrange frequencies, strong, clear treble notes, and deep yet balanced lows, and together with V-Class, make this a superb all-around guitar. The preamp/tuner unit features an LED display for tuning and low battery indication, along with Tone and Volume controls. The preamp/tuner is powered by two button cell 3v lithium (CR2032) batteries. Two new batteries will provide approximately 300 hours of use. The ES-B conserves battery life using a standard on/off system that will automatically turn off if left on over 3 minutes. A low battery indicator on the LED display (located on the preamp circuit board) will display an “L” when the battery reaches 4.5 volts.

This Grand Pacific model is the first of our round-shoulder dreadnoughts to feature back and sides of solid ovangkol, an African tonewood that shares rosewood’s warmth and brilliance with additional presence in the midrange. Topped with solid spruce, the AD17 serves up a blend of sparkle and clean low-end power, enhanced by V-Class bracing for greater volume, longer sustain, and a more in-tune sound. That seasoned, vintage-hued tone is reflected in this model’s strikingly classic look, with a natural top and a deep Urban Sienna color treatment for the ovangkol back and sides. Minimally decorated but finely crafted, the AD17 also features chamfered body edges, stained spruce edge trim, a three-ring rosette in Hawaiian koa, and a faux tortoiseshell pickguard. The 2.0 mil-thick matte body finish minimizes damping for unfettered resonance. It ships in a Taylor AeroCase.
