The tube chart is stamped "PF", indicating assembly in June 1966. Speaker is the original Oxford 8EV-52 marked 465-709 (dated the 22nd week of 1966). Both power and output transformers are the original Schumachers and date to the 3rd week of 1966 and first week of 1966. Most of the pots date to mid/late 1966. Includes original cover.

The Blues Jr. Lacquered Tweed takes Fender's 15W gem and gives it the true vintage treatment with a lacquered tweed covering and a vintage-voiced 12" Jensen speaker. Its golden tones are generated by an all-tube signal path using a pair of EL84 output tubes and 3 - 12AX7 preamp tubes. Add renowned Fender reverb, flexible controls, FAT switch for mid boost, and you're in business. And just look at that chrome panel, that tweed finish with vintage-style brown and gold grille cloth, and those vintage pointer knobs!

George Fullerton went to work for his close friend, Clarence "Leo" Fender, on Feb. 2, 1948, at the Fender® Electric Instrument Co. on Pomona Ave. in Fullerton, Calit. He became Leo Fender's right-hand man and, as such, played a pivotal role in the design and manufacture of then-revolutionary instruments and amplifiers that went on to rule the world. The Telecaster® guitar. The Precision® Bass guitar. The Bassman® amp And of course, the Stratocaster® guitar.
1957 was a benchmark year for the Stratocaster. The model had evolved quickly since its debut three years earlier, and 1957 was the year during which, many agree, the Stratocaster truly came into its own as an archetypal instrument, the year that a startlingly original design began to truly assert its role not only as a musical force, but also as a cultural icon that both fueled and reflected ages to come
Now, exactly 50 years later, the Fender Custom Shop is thrilled to say "Welcome home" to George Fullerton, whose legacy is honored with this very special instrument- one on which Mr. Fullerton himself has collaborated with our skilled Master Builders-The Limited Edition George Fullerton 50T Anniversary 1957 Stratocaster guitar.
Together with its accompanying Relic Tweed Pro Jr. IM amplifier, this instrument evokes the sheer devotion to craftsmanship and pioneering 1950s spirit of Fender; a spirit that George Fullerton personally helped found and foster, and a legendary guitar that he personally had an invaluable hand in creating. **This guitar is used and in excellent condition. Little to no signs of wear can be found on the guitar. The COA booklet button is broken; its contents are in good condition. Was recently setup by one of our techs. Comes with the original hardshell case. The price has been adjusted accordingly.
1959 saw the advent of several important feature changes to the Stratocaster® including a slab rosewood fingerboard with clay position dots, a three-ply mint green pickguard with 8, 9 or 10 screws depending on the month it was built, and a metal spacer added to the string tree. This hardtail version would have been on the rare side, which ups the collectability and cool factors. This guitar features a hand-selected two-piece alder body and a rift-sawn maple neck with a 1959 “D” profile, a vintage compound-radius (7.25” - 9.5”) rosewood fingerboard and 21 medium vintage frets.
Hand-wound 1959 Strat pickups are wired to a vintage ’59 control assembly and five-way switch. Other features include Closet Classic hardware, three-ply eight-hole mint green pickguard, vintage-style hardtail bridge with patent pending saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and wing string tree with metal spacer. Available in Faded Aged Sonic Blue and Chocolate Three-Color Sunburst finishes. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
