The Bedell Summer of Love series revives the spirit of the most coveted acoustic guitar during the summer of 1967: the Adirondack/Brazilian dreadnought. It tells the story of the tonal magic of Brazilian rosewood and its prominence in the music that gave us the ‘60s sound we love and appreciate to this day; it’s the sound that inspired a revolution, and went on to inspire countless musicians and transform the face of modern music.
The soundboards are crafted from 200-year-old Adirondack spruce, which has higher resonance and more complex overtones than Sitka and provides strong volume and pronounced individual note clarity with vintage sound.
The Brazilian rosewood used in the Summer of Love series is regarded as one of the finest tonewoods: hard, stiff, and highly resonant. It is known for exceptional sustain and clarity and producing a loud, warm, rich tone with full, deep bases and brilliant trebles.

For the timeless folk-rock sound that defined an entire generation, look no further than the Bedell Coffee House Dreadnought. These instruments are exquisitely crafted to revive the spirit that inspired the incredible music of the counterculture era: Adirondack spruce tops from individually harvested trees, sustainably grown Indian rosewood backs and sides, traditional body shapes, an espresso sunburst finish, and a handcrafted koa binding.
There is something striking about the sound of rosewood paired with Adirondack spruce… when strummed, the Coffee House guitars take you right back to that moment in time when music was changing forever, when coffee houses were a radical, safe place for youth who wanted to change the world, and who believed in equality, justice, love and authentic self-expression.
The workshop-installed K&K Pure Mini pickups in the Bedell Coffee House Dreadnaught capture the fullness of sound and the vibe of the era authentically, without stage feedback. All Bedell Guitars come with a hardshell case.
A solid top guitar produced in the same workshop as Bedell performance instruments.
The Bedell Discovery BDM-18-M Orchestra Acoustic Guitar is perfect for those on a budget seeking a performance quality orchestra guitar. It's ready to go wherever your music takes you.
The BDD-18 has a solid sitka spruce top. This is the most popular wood for guitar tops today. Sitka spruce produces an even, clear response from low to high tones. Known to improve with age, a sitka-top guitar should make a great companion for your musical journey.
Bedell uses laminated mahogany for the back and sides. This works well for an orchestra model guitar with a sitka top to generate a strong bass with thick mid and treble tones.
This is a USED guitar being sold in 'Good' condition.

Tom Bedell designed the Revere series guitars for one reason and one reason only: to offer the world’s most talented musicians the finest instruments possible, made from ethically sourced heritage tonewoods, to inspire and illuminate the music they were born to create.
The Bedell Revere Orchestra pairs naturally seasoned Brazilian rosewood and hand-selected Adirondack spruce for the ultimate in projection, articulation, and balance. A handcrafted koa inlay accents the three-piece back from Brazilian rosewood trees that were acquired by our Spanish wood partner over 50 years ago and aged in an ideal climate near Madrid.
To enable the legacy sound of the Revere Orchestra, each perfectly cured rosewood back-and-side set is paired with the stiffest Adirondack spruce soundboards in order to allow for the thinnest, lightest top possible for maximum responsiveness. Together they offer the artist incredible opportunities for powerful, nuanced expression.
The Revere Orchestra is equipped with the PowerMix Pure XT system from K&K Sound: an electronics package that has earned the respect of players worldwide, and offers the purest sound possible.
All Bedell Guitars come with a hardshell case.
Bedell Guitars invented a new shape for parlor guitars. The lower bout is both wider and longer than traditional parlors giving the instrument more air volume and therefore more sound. As a 12-fret to the body design, the bridge is positioned right in the center of the lower bout enhancing the modal dynamics to deliver more efficient and pronounce sound. For a small instrument, our Bedell Revolution Parlor produces a big sound.
The cocobolo back has been sanded to a thinness that really brings the parlor to life. We do not build our guitars to a predetermined tonewood dimension, but rather sand them to a weight that responds to a target frequency, several half steps higher than the Adirondack spruce soundboard. We then hand carve the bracing and tone bars to insure the entire guitar top is tuned to deliver maximum sound efficiency.
The comfort of the smaller body make the Revolution Parlor a dream to play; the beauty of the design makes it a joy to present. It is not an exaggeration to call this guitar the Angel of all Parlors!
