Unique in design and in tone.
The RainSong Black Ice Series BI-WS1000N2 is an acoustic-electric guitar that embodies artistry in every graphite fiber from which it's constructed. The soundboard on this Rainsong guitar is meticulously crafted individually to make every Black Ice guitar unique, aesthetically pleasing, but not overbuilt.
The WS is a wonderfully versatile guitar. Combining the best qualities of large and small-bodied guitars, this body shape is ideally suited for a variety of musical situations. A large, deep chamber gives the WS strong projection and rich bass. The narrow waist and tight upper bout encourage ringing treble, good balance and clear definition of individual notes. Overall, RainSong WS guitars are impeccably balanced. The shapely curves and light weight make this RainSong Black Ice Guitar comfortable to cradle or to stand with. The RainSong Black Ice guitar's extra-deep cutaway encourages playing up the fretboard.
The guitar's N2 neck is a result of an extensive, long-term collaboration with renowned artist Steve Miller and master luthier John Bolin. The neck design is based on a modified U profile that has been popular in guitars since the 1950s. While the N2 guitar neck has a more substantial feel than the original RainSong 6-string neck, it is ergonomically sound and actually results in better transfer of string vibration energy to the soundboard. The N2 neck features a truss rod that is accessible from the headstock. Because graphite does not warp or bow with changes in humidity and temperature, the purpose of a truss rod in this RainSong N2 neck is to allow you to customize the relief to suit your playing preferences.
Includes RainSong hardshell case.

How do you describe RainSong's JM? Three words: loud, loud, and loud. And if that's not enough, it's also loud. This is the largest body RainSong builds. The sheer size, combined with the attributes of Projection Tuned Layering™ make the JM one of the loudest acoustic guitars on the planet. This guitar is loud. We had to say it again. But the JM is not just about power. The narrow waist and some layering refinements specific to the Jumbo soundboard give the JM some real fingerstyle grace. The guitar is strong, but impeccably balanced, with bass, mids and trebles distinct, clear and, dare we say it again, loud.

RainSong guitars are built entirely out of carbon fiber, so they aren't affected by changes in temperature and humidity. RainSong's guitars are immune to problems like warping, cracking, or tuning and setup instability.
These qualities make RainSong guitars ideal for players living in dry or humid climates, but the toughness of carbon fiber means they're also great for travel and gigging.
In addition to their rugged design, RainSong guitars sound amazing and are easy to play. Many people are surprised to learn that carbon fiber makes an excellent soundboard material, and it gives RainSong guitars a tone that's surprisingly close to a wood guitar while still being unique.
RainSong's Concert Series have unidirectional carbon fiber tops. This type of carbon fiber simulates the grain found on natural wood, helping to give the Concert Series a subtly warmer tone.
This RainSong features a "Shorty" 12-fret neck which joins the body at the 12th fret instead of the 14th fret. This translates to a shorter scale and shifted bridge position.
12-fret RainSong guitars have a shorter scale, which translates to slightly lower string tension and frets that are a little closer together. Some players find short scale guitars a bit easier to play than full scale instruments.
The lower tension and altered bridge placement also tends to produce a tone that is a little warmer and more bass-focused than 14-fret guitars, although the difference is often subtle.

To combine the stability and robustness of carbon fiber with the traditional aesthetics of wood, RainSong has developed SFT: Soundboard Fusion Technology. After careful experimentation, we are able to fuse a thin spruce soundboard and a unidirectional pre-impregnated carbon top in a single molding step. The resulting SFT soundboard is a composite matrix that resonates as a single unit, like a solid wood soundboard. The physical properties of the carbon fiber far exceed those of the thin wood. Hence the SFT soundboard maintains the imperviousness to humidity and temperature of carbon fiber.
An SFT soundboard delivers rich crystalline carbon sound subtly colored by wood.
The Dreadnought is the traditional workhorse of acoustic guitar music. With a large, deep body and wide waist, RainSong's DR has the powerful bass and ringing treble of a great rhythmic guitar, but still maintains a wonderfully balanced sound, with clear distinction among individual notes. From rhythm to lead, the DR makes its presence known. Capable of cutting through admirably in any acoustic setting, the DR is loud enough to compete with banjoes, mandolins and other traditional volume hogs.
