ProBucker™ humbucker Pickups
The classic "P.A.F" sound is closer than you think
Epiphone's ProBucker™ humbucker has quietly become one of the most talked about pickups in the industry. It has fooled experts, vintage purists, and even luthiers who have worked with the best vintage examples from the late 50s and early 60s. Epiphone ProBucker™ humbuckers are the real deal--made with 18% Nickel Silver unit bases and covers, the same alloy used by Gibson at the Kalamazoo factory when the humbucker was first invented. The use of Nickel Silver reduces the occurrence of eddy currents due to low conductivity and provides a more transparent and crisp output. The size and shape of the bobbins also has a great impact on tonal response. And the bobbins used on ProBucker™ pickups duplicate the size and shape of the gold standard in the industry, Gibson humbuckers. Epiphone ProBucker™ pickups also feature sand cast Alnico II magnets, high quality 4 conductor lead wire, and are vacuum wax potted to eliminate microphonics.

The Epiphone Mastertone Bowtie Open Back Banjo was inspired by Gibson™ Mastertone models with “Bowtie” cosmetics from the 1950s and 1960s and delivers high-quality with vintage style at an accessible price point. Perfect for clawhammer/frailing as well as Scruggs style players, it is equipped with a 26.4” scale length satin-finished mahogany neck that features the Gibson “scroll-style” headstock with mother-of-pearl Epiphone logo and Gibson Crown inlays, the bound laurel fretboard has 22 frets and classic mother-of-pearl Bowtie inlays and a Mastertone block inlay at the end of the fretboard. After the Gibson SJ-200 was launched in 1937, it quickly earned the title "the King of the Flat-Tops" due to its superior sound, physical size, outstanding projection, and majestic appearance. The earliest model years of the SJ-200 used rosewood for the back and sides, and this was switched to maple in 1947. Due to the harsh realities of the economy after the Great Depression, there was limited demand for the top-of-the-line Su-200, and consequently, relatively few were produced. The rare rosewood-bodied pre-war SJ-200 models have become highly prized by today's collectors, which has driven their used prices up significantly on the vintage guitar market. Now, Epiphone has partnered with Gibson Custom to create an Inspired by Gibson Custom recreation of this vintage icon, making it more readily available for today's players to enjoy. The Epiphone Pre-War SJ-200 Rosewood Reissue is replete with vintage-inspired details, including solid rosewood back and sides, a thermally aged solid spruce top with traditional scalloped X-bracing made from quarter-sawn solid spruce, and a two-piece maple neck with a rosewood stringer and Round D profile and is attached to the body with a glued-in dovetail joint. The ebony fretboard is adorned with mother-of-pearl graduated Crown inlays and equipped with 20 standard frets. The SJ-200 style pickguard has vintage-style graphics, and the ebony SJ-200 open two-bar Moustache™ bridge has mother-of-pearl inlays. The nut, compensated saddle, and bridge pins are all made of bone. The Gibson "open book" headstock features a vintage Epiphone logo and a Gibson Crown inlaid in aged mother-of-pearl and has a stinger and an Inspired by Gibson Custom Double Diamond logo etched on the rear. In a nod to the needs of modern musicians, it comes with an under-saddle L.R. Baggs™ Element Bronze VTC piezo pickup and active preamp with soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls pre-installed, so it is stage and studio ready, straight out of the included Red Line-inspired hardshell case with Inspired by Gibson Custom graphic.

Multi-instrumentalist Rex Brown is famous for his work with legendary metal bands Pantera and Down, and his hard-rocking solo album, Smoke on This… Epiphone is proud to release the first Epiphone Rex Brown signature model in partnership with the legendary musician. The Epiphone Rex Brown Thunderbird™ Bass features a 9-ply neck-through-body mahogany and walnut neck with a C-shape profile, mahogany body wings, and a standard 34” scale length. It is powered by a pair of Epiphone ProBucker™ 760 bass pickups, which feature nickel covers that complement the otherwise all-gold hardware. The passive electronics have two volume controls and a master tone control that feature smooth CTS® potentiometers. The gold pickguard bears the famous Thunderbird logo, and on the back of the headstock, Rex’s signature is reproduced, while the rear control cover features a Rex Brown logo doodle. A hardshell case is also included.

Like the Custom version of the Les Paul, which Les himself envisioned as a fancier, "tuxedo" version of his legendary solidbody model, the S Custom also features the premium appointments that can be found on all Custom models.
The Epiphone S Custom has a contoured, double-cutaway mahogany body that delivers exceptional access to all 22 frets. The glued-in mahogany neck adds to the model's renowned sustain. The neck has a 1960 Slim Taper C profile that isn't quite as thin as some Slim Taper neck profiles but is still fast and comfortable to play. The neck is capped with a bound ebony fretboard equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets and is adorned with Custom pearloid block inlays. The 12" fretboard radius is equally comfortable and well suited for first-position chording and for string bends further up the neck without the risk of your bends fretting out. The Epiphone SG Custom is outfitted with gold hardware throughout, right down to the gold inserts on the black Top Hat control knobs. The bound headstock has Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuning machines and is adorned with the Epiphone logo and Custom Split Diamond inlay, both in mother of pearl. The Grover tuners, Graph Tech ™ nut, and the fully adjustable Epiphone LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece all work together to keep the tuning stability and intonation on point.
The Epiphone S Custom is equipped with a pair of Epiphone ProBucker™ Custom humbucking pickups that deliver all of the vintage-approved S tones you expect. Each pickup is wired to its own individual volume and tone control, along with a three-way toggle pickup selector switch, which lets you use either pickup alone or combine them in whatever ratio suits your mood and the musical moment.
