The neck has a fast-playing SlimTaper™ C profile and is capped with a bound laurel fretboard that is equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets and is adorned with pearloid trapezoid inlays. The fretboard's 12" radius makes playing first-position chords easy while ensuring that string bends don't fret out when you play them. High-quality Grover® Rotomatic® tuning machines and a Graph Tech™ nut, paired with a fully adiustable Epiphone LockTone™M Tune-O-Matic ™ bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece, work together to keep the tuning stability and intonation rock-solid.
The Epiphone SG Standard is equipped with a pair of Epiphone's acclaimed ProBucker™M humbucking pickups that deliver all of the vintage-approved SG tones you could ask for.
A ProBucker™M 2 humbucker™ is in the neck position, and a slightly hotter ProBucker 3 is installed in the bridge position. Built at our ESP factory in Japan, the ESP E-II Alexi Ripped is among the final guitars designed by Children of Bodom/Bodom After Midnight frontman Alexi Laiho, one of the world’s most beloved and influential figures in metal music. The E-II Alexi Ripped is offered in an offset V shape with neck-thru-body construction at 25.5” scale. It features a three-piece thin u-shaped maple neck with natural satin finish for smooth and fast playability, alder body wings, and an ebony fingerboard (scalloped from frets 19-24) with 24 extra-jumbo frets, sawtooth inlays, and glow-in-the-dark side markers. The Alexi Ripped model is the first Alexi Laiho Signature Series guitar with more than one pickup. It includes an EMG HZ F-H2 passive humbucker in the bridge position, a ceramic high-gain pickup that offers excellent presence and clarity with a punchy response, as well as an EMG HZ S2 passive stacked single coil in the neck for just the right mix of mids with a clear and full low end. It also includes an ESP MM-04 active boost switch, a preamp circuit with adjustable EQ settings and up to +18dB of boost when you need it!
