The music of Gus G and his band Firewind can be described as melodic, soaring and punishing - in short, metal masterpieces. But just as Gus is shaping the bleeding edge of metal, he is deeply passionate about its roots, as evidenced by his scoring the coveted gig as guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne.
Gus' gear reflects his passion, inspired by the classics and updated for a new level of sophistication and musical expression. BBE stompboxes share his ethos, born out of respect and appreciation for the classics while pushing forward, evolving the breed. Gus' new G Screamer signature overdrive is a thundering example. For years, the BBE Green Screamer was Gus' overdrive pedal of choice. But working closely with BBE's legendary mastermind Paul Gagon, Gus has now dialed in his tone still more, for solos that power his vision for the modern metal realm:
"BBE's Green Screamer is the one pedal I always had to have with me. When I'm soloing, the Green Screamer gives me that extra kick I need, a great combination of meaty gain and harmonics that drive my amp's tubes harder for a really thick, punishing tone. But it's not just an old school wall of distortion. It's complex and sophisticated, never ragged.
"The Green Screamer was working great for me, but I had ideas about how to make it even better for my tone. Paul Gagon and I collaborated and we modified the input driver to the distortion circuit so that more lower-mid harmonics are focused where I want them. Now my new G Screamer pedal lets me drive even more harmonics, and they're focused right where I need them to be for a cleaner, tighter distortion. The G Screamer delivers explosive power with precision. It's my new weapon."

We did it! We have taken the densest tonewood – it actually sinks in water – and found magic music wood. Cocobolo is twice the density of mahogany so when guitar builders use it to the same dimension, the instruments are heavy and not responsive. We have sanded our backs to a specified weight achieving a frequency response that has proven to be incredible. Maybe even more robust than Brazilian rosewood which is in the same species family. Our Revolution Dreadnought has a huge sound, dynamic bass, surprising sustain…it just sounds and looks beautiful.
The hard rock maple neck is also part of the magic. Hard maple is significantly denser than Honduran mahogany. With the compound taper dovetail neck joint connecting the one-piece maple neck to the cocobolo body – the sound energy is alive.
To top it off, we selected an old-age stiff Adirondack spruce top to drive the sound. Of course the tonewoods are Hand Tuned so the frequencies of the back are several half steps higher than the top and the bracing and tone bars have been carved to make sure the entire surface is tuned to the same frequency throughout.
The Revolution is an incredible sounding dreadnought. Additionally, the top and neck burst accentuate the dynamic coloring of the cocobolo.

The Ecstasy amplifier was born in 1992 and decades later Bogner is still hand building each amp, one at a time, right here in Los Angeles, California. The Ecstasy red pedal captures the mystical red channel tone of this legendary amplifier, famous for its incendiary higher gain crunch and lead tones. Using interactive controls to adjust gain and EQ settings, the red pedal delivers a wide range of expressive tones from vintage overdrive to ripping modern high gain. Ideal for aggressive playing styles, the red pedal boasts the outrageous heavy tones that get Bogner amps into the backlines of rock’s most notable players.
Reinhold designed the Ecstasy red pedal with five discrete Class A gain stages and with no op-amps or diode clipping, mirroring the circuitry of the Ecstasy amplifier’s red channel. This revolutionary approach provides clarity, touch sensitivity and note separation never before achieved in overdrive pedals.
The Ecstasy red is powered by a standard 9V battery or 9VDC power supply. Reinhold’s advanced circuitry internally elevates the voltage a substantially higher level. This higher voltage provides a greater dynamic range which closely resembles the feel of the Ecstasy amplifier’s legendary tube design.

Bolin Guitars History
Since 1978, Bolin Guitars, LLC has built some of the most innovative guitars in rock and roll history. A list of their satisfied customers include; Billy F. Gibbons, Jimmy Page, Steve Miller, Dusty Hill, Lou Reed, Doc Watson, Albert King, Bo Diddley, Joe Perry, and Keith Richards & Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones. No matter how outrageous Bolin Guitars look, John is adamant that “it’s about the music,” and, as his clientele testify, the quality of his instruments is second to none.
Founder and owner John Bolin, heads Bolin Guitars. John started building guitars in 1978, and today his company has grown to fill an over 6500 square foot manufacturing facility. John’s son Jake is now part of the team continuing the Bolin tradition to a new generation.
One of Bolin’s big breaks came in 1985, when John acted on a friend’s suggestion to build a guitar for Billy F. Gibbons of ZZ Top, who were playing in Boise. After intense homework and hours in the shop, John managed to build a not only a guitar, but also a matching bass. In two weeks, the shop turned out a hot-rod influenced design covered in a metal-flake candy apple red paint job.
In a risky move, the night of show John snuck back stage and introduced himself to Billy, who lowered his sunglasses and said, “Get your best and meet me in the green room in ten.” As Billy played through both the bass a guitar, 2 minutes turned in to 20 and within 24 hours Billy and John had stuck their first deal.
This is the moment that began the working relationship between Bolin Guitars and ZZ Top and has helped Bolin Guitars create exceptional instruments. With input from other craftsmen and the artists who play them, today, they have collaborated on over 200 of the most creative and innovative guitars in rock & roll.
“As my father has aged, so too has his attention to detail in his work. With more patience, his care and precision only becomes more pronounced, and I have seen him perfect a guitar for far longer than most craftsman would, and as a result his work remains timeless.” -Jake
