The late-’50s tweed-covered Fender Bassman is often called the grandfather of all amps. It is beloved by guitarists worldwide for its simplicity, versatility, dynamic range, warm tube overdrive, stage-filling power and rugged roadworthiness.
Bassbreaker series guitar amplifiers continue Fender’s storied lineage with a kind of parallel evolution that evokes the dawn of hard rock. Bassbreaker takes the original Bassman design and breaks away with features including dark gray lacquered tweed covering, refined pointer knobs and unique circuitry plus power tubes and speakers hinting at the U.K. amps that ‘borrowed’ Fender circuits in the 1960s. The sound is one of pure tube greatness.
The Bassbreaker 45 is the 45-watt flagship model that leads a first-rate lineup of lower-wattage models, all with pro-level tone and performance for today’s rock players.

The original all-tube 5E3 circuit is renowned for its early-onset distortion and highly interactive controls—a little experimentation unlocks a world of tonal treats for your ears. The classic design is updated with improved volume pot tapers, offering more precise control at low settings used for rich, mellow clean tone from the Instrument and Mic channels.
The handwired circuit includes premium yellow coupling capacitors chosen for their authentic vintage Fender tone—producing sparkly cleans and creamy overdrive with smooth top end and round mids. A newly designed single 12-inch 8-ohm Eminence Special Design alnico speaker delivers these rocking vintage tones, driven by a pair of 6V6 power tubes for 12 watts of classic tube sound and touch-sensitive response.

Originally designed to provide a matching, sealed, closed-back 2x12 extension option for the MESA® Roadster® head and combo, the 2x12 Recto® Compact has now established itself as the compact, tighter and more balanced-sounding 2x12 in the Rectifier® Cabinet Line. While it’s smaller size delivers more balance across lows, mids & highs, bass resonance and authoritative punch are still signatures of the Recto 2x12 Compact. Beyond its increased focus and tightness in lows, the 2x12 Compact is welcome to those seeking a smaller footprint and easier transport while making no sacrifices in legendary Rectifier tone.
