For decades, fingerstyle virtuoso Doyle Dykes has inspired audiences with his masterful touch and musical imagination. This refreshed Doyle Dykes Signature Model, part of our Legacy Collection, revives the distinctive design originally crafted to Doyle’s personal playing specifications. The guitar features a thinner-bodied Grand Auditorium with a Florentine cutaway, pairing figured maple back and sides with a Sitka spruce top for a blend of clarity and projection. Its slim-carve hard rock maple neck and 24-7/8-inch scale length deliver a fast, comfortable feel that makes intricate fingerstyle passages effortless. Visually, the model captures Doyle’s vibrant personality and honors his longtime mentor and friend, Chet Atkins. A transparent orange gloss finish highlights the body and neck, accented by grained ivoroid binding (body, fretboard, headstock, and soundhole), green abalone top trim and rosette with black/cream purfling, and offset mother-of-pearl “Chet”-style thumbnail inlays. A rose motif headstock inlay in mother-of-pearl and green abalone, along with ebony bridge pins with abalone dots, completes the striking aesthetic. Updated for today’s player, this edition includes Taylor’s new Claria System electronics, featuring onboard Volume, Mid-Contour and Tone controls for easy, natural amplified sound in any setting.
